2017-18: Celebrations

The annual initiative for 2017-18 is Celebrations.  The children are finding out about celebrations from different, countries, cultures and religions.  We are also celebrating national and worldwide events including World Book Day, Safer Internet Day and Groundhog Day.  The children have been busy deciding on other themes we can celebrate.  These include, ‘sing a song’ day, ‘make a friend’ day and ‘ice cream’ day.

Our Christmas celebrations were made all the more memorable this year when the Reception children performed the Nativity, complete with real sheep for the shepherds and a real donkey for Mary and Joseph’s journey to the stable.  Our Celtic roundhouse (annual initiative, The Celts in 2014-15) was ideal as the Bethlehem stable.
